FRYEBURG, Maine — About 65 people attended MSAD 72’s school board’s discussion of transgender athletes and the proposed school district budget on May 7 in the Molly Ockett School gym.

On allowing transgender athletes to compete, school board member Eli Goodwin urged the board to get a second opinion. He said the district’s law firm, Drummond Woodsum, is left-leaning and its opinion allowing for transgender in girls sports is at odds with most of what the public believes.
