CONWAY — As a heat wave with temperatures in the 90s rolled through the area this week, and a daily record for June 19 was broken atop Mount Washington.

Mt. Washington Observatory Weather Observer and Education Specialist Alex Branton said the high recorded Wednesday at the summit was 70 degrees, breaking the record for June 19 between 1:45 and 2:15 p.m.

The valley seen a population boom post pandemic that will continue years ahead. The drought and gypsy moth couple years back also contributed to warmer climates. Whitaker Woods lost many trees that has contributed to warmer temps to North Conway. As MWV's population increases, with tourism too, it will get warmer. That it is science, and not a result who you vote for in November or years past.
