BARTLETT — More than 350 people thronged to the Theater in the Wood in Intervale last Saturday night for the Granite Backcountry Alliance’s third annual Film Festival, which followed a work day on the nearby Maple Villa Trail off Route 16-A behind the New England Inn.

“There was a tremendous amount of enthusiasm. That's about equal to what we also attracted to the film festival last year — that blows some people away, as they don’t realize it until they show up and see it, but it shows just how much interest is out there for backcountry skiing,” said Tyler Ray, a local attorney with Cooper Cargill Chant, and president of the nonprofit backcountry skiing organization.
