GORHAM — “In grateful memory of E. Grace S. LaBarr, M.D. who gave her life in the service of this community in the battle with influenza. October 10, 1918,” reads a bronze plaque located near the main entrance to Gorham Town Hall.

The plaque had been installed at the Cascade Post Office, and when that was torn down, it was transferred to town hall, recalled former Gorham selectman Paul Robitaille.
