FRYEBURG, Maine — This academy town by the river has a long history, steeped in generations of military service — and now through Labor Day, the Fryeburg Historical Society is celebrating that rich history for its 50th anniversary season with its exhibit, “Salute to Our Veterans.”

The Fryeburg Historical Society's exhibit at the Col. Samuel Osgood House on Portland Street will be open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. through Aug. 31.
