OSSIPEE — A former Carroll County corrections officer avoided jail time Tuesday when she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count possession of a controlled drug.

Zina Ryan, 29, a Wakefield resident at the time of her offense, pleaded guilty to possession of an unspecified controlled drug in her purse in Ossipee on June 5, 2017.
