CONWAY — The welding shop at the Mount Washington Valley Career and Technical Center has undergone an extreme makeover — one that could make it the envy of vocational programs across the nation.

Last Friday, students, staff and special guests, including state Sen. Mark McConkey (R-Freedom), Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chris Proulx and former state representative Karen Umberger, gathered for a ribbon-cutting at the state-of-the art welding shop, complete with 12 stations — expanded from five — at Kennett High School.
