CONWAY — Selectmen on Tuesday rebuffed a request to cut nearly $500,000 from the town operating budget by the Municipal Budget Committee.

The budget committee may make the cut following a  public hearing on Valentine's Day but even if they do, residents could choose to reverse the budgeteers in March. This often happens when it comes to school budgets.
