BRETTON WOODS — The more you learn about the Bretton Woods Economic Monetary Conference of July 1944, held at what today is known as the Omni Mount Washington Resort, the more you almost believe that it could be the setting for a New Hampshire-based version on a PBS “Downton Abbey”-like television drama series, full of intrigue, colorful characters, heated discussions, skinny-dipping, espionage and more.

But wait, you say: a television mini-drama series on economics? Really? Trust us — it’s a great story.
