BARTLETT — The Bartlett-Jackson Ambulance Service took to Facebook Wednesday to address concerns about the delayed response to a fire that destroyed an unoccupied Covered Bridge Lane home on Sunday.

Social media posters listening to their scanners said the response was delayed by a few minutes when the Bartlett fire chief told dispatch the house fire was a permitted burn. The gist of the concerns were that Interim Fire Chief Jim Langdon reportedly canceled the response, saying the fire was a “permitted burn,” without being at the scene to confirm there was no emergency.
