CONWAY — Like all combat veterans, Capt. Ray Gilmore III has faced much in his lifetime. His passion for skiing has been a constant source of enjoyment, recreation and healing his own combat scars — and now he wants to share that passion with fellow veterans.
He has created the SSG Herbert Schneider Wounded Warrior Adaptive Reconditioning Program for veterans in honor of late 10th Mountain Division Ski Troops veteran, former Cranmore owner and general manager, and late ski ambassador Herbert Schneider (1920-2012), son of legendary Cranmore ski school director Hannes Schneider (1890-1955), “father of modern American skiing.”
