White Mountain Health Center, Badger Realty put the fun in fundraiser

CONWAY — It was all aboard the Funraiser Express on Nov. 7, when a special train ride departed from the Conway Scenic Railroad station in North Conway. The train ride was the centerpiece of a fun family event put on by the White Mountain Community Health Center, which teamed up with area businesses and non-profits to put on this inaugural event.
"It was a terrific day — and we were able to raise $9,000 for our pediatric primary care and dental programs," said Patricia McMurry, executive director of the White Mountain Community Health Center. "It was so much fun, especially for the children. There was face painting provided by the Mount Washington Valley Children's Museum; free books, thanks to the Believe in Books Foundation; an adoptable dog from Conway Area Humane Society; free toothbrushes from the Kiwanis Club; Story Land characters, Duke the Dinosaur and Humpty Dumpty; live acoustic Irish music from the White Mountain Ceili Band; and free cider doughnuts from the White Mountain Cider Company. We can't say thanks enough to Express Events, Conway Scenic Railroad's foundation arm, that enabled us to have this event with the train ride."
