The 119th Freedom Old Home Week is in the history books. Everyone seemed to enjoy the events offered, from the amazing parade, throughout the week at the pig roast, paint night, bingo, land sports, talent night, arts and crafts fair, lobster barbecue and everything in between. The Freedom Old Home Week Committee would like to thank all of those who participated in and came to events during the week. Pictures and results are on the Freedom Old Home Week Facebook page as well as freedomoldhomeweek.net. Mark your calendars for the 120th Freedom Old Home Week Aug. 3 to Aug. 12, 2018.

The library's summer reading theme this year is "Build a Better World" and we are doing our part to build a better world by supporting Habitat for Humanity. There is a group being organized to go work on the house that they are currently building in Tamworth on Thursday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or as long as you can be there). Join in, no experience or special skills are required although the minimum age is 18. Tools are provided. The build location is 427 Silver Pine Lane in Tamworth. Call the library at (603) 539-5176 to say you'd like to help. Morning coffee and lunch are provided.

Terri Brooks won Best in Show at the Mount Washington Valley Arts Association Art in the Park Saturday, Aug. 5 in North Conway's Schouler Park.
