Freedom Down Column: Kerry Ann Mendez to offer virtual gardening class

Miranda Sandahl and Freedom Village Store delivery volunteers are doing an incredible job helping Freedom residents during this unusual time. They've been delivering products like fresh milk, eggs, cheese, butter and bread as well as frozen meats and pies but have just added four flavors of tea cakes and four types of whoopee pies as well as hand sewn masks, soaps, etc. The list of items is ever expanding and people should email fvs@freedomvillagestore.org to see the latest offerings.

Garden designer Kerry Ann Mendez returns to Freedom — only this time virtually — to share her gardening expertise on Wednesday, May 6, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. This live online program, sponsored by the Friends of the Freedom Public Library, is entitled “Power Up Garden Beauty; Power Down Garden Maintenance” in which Mendez will share her recommendations for perennials, flowering shrubs and annuals that will give you more bang for your buck with less backbreaking maintenance and with much more color than commonly planted varieties.
