The selectmen had what turned out to be their last public meeting of the month on March 18. Only Selectman Rick Hiland and Selectwoman Cathy Ryan were actually in the room (though sitting far apart). Selectman Joe Ferris was on the phone. They reviewed and signed the manifest and other necessary items.
By vote, Select Board Chairman Hiland was given authority to run the day-to-day operations of town hall. There was a vote not to rent out town hall during this emergency time. The appointment with David Smolen and Conway library trustees will be rescheduled. The next meeting will be at the call of the chairman. The board authorized the chairman to purchase a PolyCom 2 conference unit with two additional microphones and a conferencing service to facilitate conference calling (not to exceed $600). This will enable their meeting by phone due to emergency declarations such as is being undergone at the present time.
