Local resident Beth Canter has been making and perfecting healthy fermented food recipes and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with you. She will present a traditional sauerkraut-making demo along with variations on krauts in the Ham Room of the Conway Public Library on Monday, June 25, at 6 p.m. There will be other lacto-fermented foods to taste (including hot sauce and fermented sweet onions) and Beth will discuss the many health benefits of adding home made probiotics to your diets.

Participants will take home a jar of their own kraut to ferment at home along with some information and recipes. Register ahead by calling (603) 447-5552 or emailing tnarducci@conwaypubliclibrary.org. Limited spaces are available. If you are looking for books that contain canning, fermenting or pickling recipes there are plenty to be found at the library.
