Mud Bowl (or the World Championships of Mud) has come and gone and by all accounts it was the best three days of mud football in recent years. The sun stayed out, there was a breeze, and the crowds responded by showing up and cheering on their favorite teams. The Muddas of Amherst won the championship once again and Tom Eastman’s full report in Tuesday’s Sun brought together all of the details wonderfully. The advent of more women’s teams also drew a lot of new interest and support. See you again on the first weekend after Labor Day in 2020.
Thanks go out to the members of the all-volunteer Mud Bowl Committee as well as RSVP and many other volunteers who worked together behind the scenes to make the weekend a success, especially tireless Mud Bowl Chair Bennie Jesseman and North Community Community Center board member Monica Belkin (whose husband Jon once again did the always entertaining play-by-play announcing). We could not have done it without you.
