Leal Elsie Day

On Aug. 22, 2013, Leal Elsie Day went through the door into eternity to be with God. Elsie was born in Fryeburg on Feb. 27, 1925 to Harry and Enid Holt. She was raised in the Fryeburg area and graduated salutatorian form Fryeburg Academy then went on to a business college in Concord, N.H.

In 1946, she was married to George A. Day from Fryeburg. Elsie was employed at the Yield House in North Conway for 27 years as a customer service representative, and, after retirement, as secretary for the Conway and Center Conway United Methodist churches. She was a member of the Center Conway UMC for 26 years and was lovingly known as the "prayer warrior."
