FRYEBURG, Maine — On Sept. 16, 2026, 98-year-old Willis Shaw of Fryeburg, Maine, passed away at home in the company of his wife, fulfilling his final wishes. He was born on July 29, 1928, in Easton, Maine.

He grew up on the farm with his grandparents in Fort Fairfield and later went to school with his half brother, Lewellen Bragdon, in Guilford, Maine. He was proud to state that he made his own way at the age of 16, and as a young adult, moved to New York and Connecticut, doing over the road trucking. Many years later, he became a bus driver for MSAD 72 for field trips and sports competitions. He greatly enjoyed his time shepherding the students and staff all over the state and recalled fond memories of this time.
