Jo-Ann Lindsey Gray died peacefully on March 4, 2017 at the Merriman House in North Conway after a long decline from Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born on May 22, 1929, to Kathryn Mercer Lindsey and Brooks M. Lindsey and grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and Washington D.C. She spent many summers with her aunt and uncle in Rhode Island, and they traveled frequently to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It was here that she met her future husband, Roger Gray, when they were teenagers and were both staying at the Pine Hill Cabins in Conway.
