Obituary: Glenn Ellsworth Blake

Glenn Ellsworth Blake, 84, of Brownfield, Maine, passed away peacefully with family on Oct.10, 2026, at the home he built on Lord’s Hill Road for his beloved wife of 60 years, Verona (Huntress) Blake. She was by his side throughout a challenging year of illness.

Born to Ellsworth and Arlene Blake, Glenn grew up on his family’s farm with his sisters, Ginny and Bev (Perkins), just outside the old Blake neighborhood. He was a hard worker from an early age, spending his time gardening, tending cows and logging when he wasn’t attending Fryeburg Academy. He later served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, and loved sharing stories and memories of his service with his grandchildren. He was a proud American.
