After a long battle with cancer, on the morning of Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, Dale Heath left this life much the same way he lived it — at home, surrounded by the family and friends he loved.
Dale was born June 16, 1939, to William and Ruby Heath. The oldest of five siblings and a lifelong Mainer, Dale called Fryeburg home for all of his 87 years. Dale loved working with his hands and could fix just about anything. A self-taught welder, he took great pride in building, repairing and creating whatever was needed. After school, he worked at Diamond National (Diamond Match) Lumber and then at “Old Man” Young’s Metal Shop. When the metal shop closed, Dale joined Western Maine Nurseries, where he worked for 28 years until his reluctant retirement in 2009.
