Calendar:Second quarter report cards are being sent home with students on Monday, Jan. 26. Early release day is Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 12:30 p.m. Ski and Skate ProgramJust a few reminders. It is important that students dress properly for very cold weather. Students traveling by bus will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Students traveling with parents will be dismissed at 12:20 p.m. The office needs to know about these students in advance to place names on the 12:20 p.m. dismissal list. Students returning from the skate program will arrive in time to take the regular buses home. Students returning from the ski program will arrive at school at 4:30 p.m. Parents should be waiting to provide transportation home from school. We are all looking forward to our winter activities and hope that everyone will have a safe and enjoyable afternoon. Please remember that even though we are off campus, this is a school activity and students are still under the jurisdiction of school authorities and are expected to follow all applicable school rules. The program is still in need of contributions of snacks, which includes granola bars. Monetary donations are also welcome. Please leave donations in the school office. PTA NewsThe PTA's next monthly meeting is Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. The next fund raiser is a concession stand at Remick Museum's winter carnival scheduled for Feb. 7. Yearbook AdvertisementsAnyone interested in purchasing advertisement space for this year's yearbook should call Kathi Brown at 323-7271. Clothes ClosetK.A. Brett Middle School has created a community clothing closet. Clean, gently used winter clothing is available at no cost. Community Clothing Closet is open at the school on the second Wednesday and fourth Thursday of each month from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the middle school wing. Community Clothing Closet is open to all and clothing is free. We already have a great selection of items ranging from baby to adult sizes, including coats. Star Watch Cross Country SkiJoin K.A. Brett's own Matt Krug for a cross-country ski star watch on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. at King Pine.Attention Eighth GradersThe eighth grade class is providing breakfast, lunch and dinner to town employees on primary day, Tuesday, Jan. 27. Items are still needed for these meals. Contact Libby Hauser for breakfast at 323-8674; Kim Cotton for lunch at 323-7290; and Ann Cox for dinner at 323-7183. A student art auction is being planned for March 13. Anyone willing to give students some of their time to guide them with their art projects, call Kim at 323-7290. A spaghetti dinner is also planned for this night if enough parents and students volunteer to help. Next class meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. Homework HelperStudents can still sign up to stay for extra help on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Permission forms are in the office and a late bus is provided to satellite stops.
