Julia Frances Davis, 89, of Cross Street, Fryeburg, died July 2, 2005, at Fryeburg Health Care. She was born in Freedom, N.H., on Sept. 22, 1915, the daughter of Henry and Alice (Gilman) Sanborn. Julia had worked at Percys Restaurant in Bridgton for several years and had cooked at the Bridgton Hospital for over 10 years. She loved family gatherings and camping and traveling in northern Maine.Julia is survived by nine children, Myrtle Quint of Fryeburg; Roger Davis and his wife Ellen of Sandsprings, Okla.; Laurence Davis and his wife Joan of Ossipee, N.H.; Arnold Davis and his wife Janice of Lovell; Linda Davis of Fryeburg; Thomas Davis of Harrison; Frances Emery and her husband John of Bridgton; Patricia Cummings and her husband Herbert of Fryeburg; and David Davis and his wife Carol of Lovell; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, as well as a special, long-time friend, Viola Cram of Fryeburg.Graveside funeral services will be held at the Forest Hill Annex Cemetery, Kansas Road, Bridgton, on Friday, July 8, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edward F. Grant officiating.Memorials in her memory are suggested to the Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, 1389 Bridgton Road, Fryeburg, Maine 04037.Arrangements are by Raymond-Wentworth Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Bridgton, Maine.
