CONWAY — Open enrollment for health insurance ends on Dec. 15.
Now is the time to review existing health insurance plan details, update applications at healthcare.gov and pick a new plan for 2020.
This year, both Ambetter and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield offer bronze, silver and gold level plans. You may be eligible for tax credits to lower the monthly premium cost.
Additionally, consumers with incomes less than 250 percent of the poverty level may qualify for extra savings through lower deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums and co-pays.
Many consumers already covered by Ambetter or Anthem received a letter with their projected premium cost for 2020. Usually this estimate is inaccurate if you are getting tax credits to help cover your premium. The only sure way to know your premium amount for 2020 is to review and update your application on healthcare.gov.
