The library is pleased to welcome assistant librarian Caroline Nickerson to the staff. Caroline will begin on Jan. 6, 2015. Her primary responsibilities will be as head of circulation, volunteer coordinator and teen librarian. We hope you will join us in welcoming her. Hooray, the library's winter film series is almost here. The series consists of six films showing every other Sunday at 4 p.m. from January through March. Following each film will be a free soup and bread supper. The series will kick off on Jan. 11 with the Polish film, "Ida," about an 18-year-old novice raised in a convent and preparing to take her vows. She is ordered by her mother superior to travel to Lodz to meet an aunt she didn't know existed who reveals that Ida is Jewish. Flyers for the Winter Film Series are available at the library and on the library's website freedompubliclibrary.org.
