Frank Jannuzzi, 90, of North Conway and New Jersey, died at his New Hampshire home on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005.The son of Frances Fontana and Charles Jannuzzi, he was reared in New Jersey, joining the U.S. Navy during World War II, and married and settled in North Plainfield, N.J. He began with a hardware store in Watchung, then a successful pool supply and outdoor business and organization on Route 22. His heart, however, was in New Hampshire, where he first came in 1967 and finally retired in later years.Mr. Jannuzzi was a strong, compassionate and dynamic man dedicated to his family and home. An inventor and pioneer in his fields, he held patents for several pool-related fixtures, and enjoyed confronting the many challenges life brought him, with verve and innovation.He leaves his wife of 61 years, Gilda C. Jannuzzi, of North Conway; seven children, Victoria Mills and her husband, Jerry Leath Mills, of Washington, N.C.; Frank Jannuzzi and his wife, Cynthia, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; Eileen Langdon and her husband, Jim, of Glen; Charles Jannuzzi and his wife, Susan, of Cary, N.C.; Mary Ellen Rickards and her husband, Elvis, of Martinsville, N.J.; Anne Rexroad of Buckhannon, W.V.; and Tom Jannuzzi and his wife, Jean, of Glen. He also leaves 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A grandchild, Michael Weiner, predeceased him.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Burial will be later in the North Conway Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
