David I. Mudgett, 65, of Stevens Road, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester. He was born July 17, 1941, in Concord, Mass., the son of the late Hazen and Margaret (Hingley) Mudgett. David was a graduate of Concord High School in Concord, Mass., and had lived in Springfield, Mass., for most of his life. Following his retirement in 2006, he and his wife moved to Effingham.David was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Cuban missile crisis. He worked as a truck driver for N&B Express Trucking and also delivered mail through Trans Lease Company.David was a member of the Teamsters Local 404 in Springfield, Mass. He was also a member of the American Legion, Chicopee, Mass. After moving to Effingham, David became active in his community, volunteering with the Ossipee Concerned Citizens, delivering Meals on Wheels. He was also a member of the Center Effingham Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathleen (Hopkins) Mudgett, Effingham, a son, Keith Mudgett and his wife Michelle, Rochester, and a daughter, Sunita Mudgett, Springfield, Mass. He was predeceased by a daughter, Heather Mudgett. David is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Mudgett and his wife Patricia, Plymouth, Mass., and Donald Mudgett and his wife Linda, Barnstead, four grandsons, two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 25, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Effingham, later in the spring.Donations in his memory may be made to the Center Effingham Baptist Church, Center Effingham, NH 03882.
