Axis Dance Center will hold auditions for dancers ages 12 and over with at least five years ballet training and a strong modern dance background. The audition will include all types of dance: ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop and modern, on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Axis Dance Company studio will be open for warmup at 9 a.m., and the audition fee is $15.Proper behavior and dedication is a must! The new junior and senior company dancer will be required to be in class two times a week, along with a Saturday rehearsal and workshop schedule. There will be costume and competition expenses. A dance company needs dedication to the group and the dance center. Axis Dance Company will have a high expectation to be an audience pleaser and be involved in performances throughout the year.Proper dress, leotard and tights, with quick ability to become barefoot, are required. Be prepared for all types of dance. An audition is a learning experience, held to give dancers an opportunity to show their dedication to the fine tuning of technique and performance. Please remember, when auditioning, dancers are not in competition with each other; they are only in competition with themselves, always striving to be better than the week or day before.
