auto alley

“Automotive Alley” is seen in Kansas City’s underground storage cave and business park, known as SubTropolic. (YOUTUBE PHOTO)

The SubTropolis may sound like a place the Penguin might hang out in “Batman,” but in reality it is a vast underground facility accessible on the outskirts of Kansas City, Mo.

The vacated area is the result of extensive limestone mining around the turn of the 20th century, creating millions of square feet of subterranean caves.
