The struggle between labor and management has been going on as long as the worker-boss dynamic has existed. Both parties share a mutually exclusive goal of success and this dichotomy transcends industries. Recently, however, the spotlight has been on the UAW or United Auto Workers, a powerful union that represents nearly 150,000 automotive assembly plant laborers.

This latest strike is being referred to as historic since the union is simultaneously striking against all three American car makers: General Motors, Ford and Stellantis (the corporate parent of Chrysler).
