CONWAY — The U.S. Postal Service is continuing a major effort to modernize its delivery fleet, with hundreds of new vehicles already in operation across New Hampshire and thousands more deployed nationwide, according to information provided by a regional communications official.

Judy K. Ferriera, a strategic communications specialist covering New England districts, said the Postal Service has ordered 51,500 next-generation delivery vehicles, including 35,000 battery electric vehicle. So far, more than 7,000 NGDVs have been delivered, including over 1,000 electric models.
