For more than a quarter of a century, Sawyer River Knife & Trading Co. has been a staple in the Mount Washington Valley. This family-owned business was opened in 1998 by Erl Emerson Sr., as a small pocketknife shop. Upon his passing, the business was turned over to his wife, Sandy, and his son Trey in 2006 who now operate it along with Trey’s son, Nathanial.

The store carries over a dozen brands of pocketknives, kitchen cutlery brands, cutting boards, -end salt and pepper grinders, gadgets, high-quality cookware, chef’s apparel, and a large amount of Mason and Cash bowls and dishware. Sawyer River also offers professional sharpening services.
