The New Hampshire Press Association has recognized The Conway Daily Sun as one of the best newspapers in the state. The Sun placed third in the general excellence category in the association's annual newspaper contest. The Concord Monitor was first and the Nashua Telegraph was second."This is the top category in the contest," said Sun publisher Mark Guerringue, "and to beat bigger newspapers like the Union Leader is really an amazing accomplishment for a small staff like ours."Two of the Sun's graphic designers also won awards. Priscilla Ellis won first for advertising supplements for her design of a supplement produced to honor members of the National Guard coming home from Iraq, which appeared in The Berlin Daily Sun. Rob Struble won third place for best use of color for an ad campaign he designed promoting Mount Washington Valley independent restaurants.
