Resort Sports Network, TV 16, a locally owned RSN station, announced that the national television network dedicated to resort communities will be sold to private investors with extensive expertise in the media and resort industries. The sale is subject to FCC approval of the transfer of RSN's broadcast licenses, expected in early 2007.RSN TV 16 airs six hours of RSN national informational and entertainment programming a day. The station couples this national programming with locally-produced content offering resort visitors the insider's view of what to do and see in the area. RSN North Conway TV 16 includes a live morning show, which is the flagship of the station, and offers market guests and residents alike all of the local information they need to start and plan their day. "This is very good news for the network," said Chris Proulx, programming manager for the station. "The new owners are at the forefront of their industries and bring a lot of expertise in every aspect of the resort media business. I think this will translate rapidly into new and expanded products and services while preserving what people already love about the company. That's exciting for both RSN TV 16's viewers who enjoy us as a bridge to the lifestyle they love, and for our advertisers who use us to reach this targeted audience."The new ownership is a group of investors who live in various resort towns including Telluride, Park City, Breckenridge, Jackson Hole and The Hamptons."We are big believers in the entertainment and marketing power of resort based media," said Mark Burchill, a Telluride resident who heads the investor group. "We intend to build upon RSN's leadership position in resort media and grow all aspects of the business. We plan to add key resources including capital investment, media expertise and resort industry experience. Our ownership will be hands-on and passionate; we live and work in resort communities."
