Lucy Hardware on Route 16 in Intervale and Shaw's Market in North Conway have joined the Project Graduation/Project Prom fund-raising program. Beginning immediately, both businesses will contribute to the 2008 Kennett High School seniors' activities.Nat Lucy, of Lucy Hardware, said, "As in past years, we will donate $5 to Project Graduation/Project Prom for every tree sold, while they last. We have balsam firs and Fraser firs in varying sizes. We also have 9- to 12-foot balsams and table top trees about 3 feet high." This program does not apply to wreaths. For more information, call the store at 356-0757.Shaw's Market, and Star Market have recently approved Project Graduation/Project Prom to be a recipient in their "Receipt Rewards Program." According to Kathy Ela, Project Graduation/Project Prom chairperson for this fund-raiser, "Shaw's and Star Markets will donate 1 percent of the eligible receipts collected. This is an ongoing program, with no end date, and is retroactive to Jan. 30, 2007, which means that all receipts obtained after that date can be submitted."The receipts must be the original and intact. Any receipts that are torn, cut or photocopied will not be accepted. Credit card information can be blacked out, but not cut off. Also, the checkout clerk can provide a duplicate receipt if asked before checking out starts. Sandy Callahan, Project Graduation chairperson, expressed her thanks to Steve Brydon, manager of Shaw's in North Conway, for his assistance in getting this program approved. She said the receipts can be turned into any Kennett High student or to Cross Insurance at 595 Eastman Road (Route 302) in Redstone."Kathy Ela can be reached at Cross Insurance 356-8389 or at home 447-2265.On Dec. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m., a portion of all proceeds at Soyfire Candle, at the Red Barn Outlet Center in North Conway, will go to Project Graduation/Project Prom.
