CONWAY — On Friday enjoy an hour of “love gone wrong” songs — some amusing, some poignant — performed by Mountain Top Music Center faculty member and area musician Claudia Keller, with piano accompaniment by Glenway Fripp. The concert starts at 1 p.m. Come enjoy an hour of sometimes offbeat and sometimes heart-wrenching musical stories of love in all its messy permutations.
“I enjoy learning the provenance of song lyrics,” Keller says. “When I learned that the lyricist of the song ‘I Wanna Be Around’ was inspired when Frank Sinatra left his first wife, Nancy Barbato, for Ava Gardner — only to have Gardner later leave him — it made that song so much more fun to dig into. I decided to do more detective work, and that’s how this whole performance was inspired.”
