CONWAY — A program of exciting small-group compositions played by world-class musicians of the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival is on tap at the Majestic Theatre on Sunday, July 19, at 4 p.m. This is chamber music as it is heard in major cities around the world, now available to music lovers in the Mount Washington Valley.Â
The program opens with Five Duos for Flute and Cello, op 39, by Reinhold Glière, written in 1909. The concert continues with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Serenade for String Trio in D Major, op 8, and concludes with Brahams’ Horn Trio in E-Flat Major, featuring William Purvis, horn. Purvis pursues a multifaceted career both in the U.S. and abroad as horn soloist, chamber musician, conductor, and educator. He has performed with the festival since 2000.
