Vocal Solution to perform First Congregational Church of Bridgton Sept. 17

BRIDGTON, Maine — The First Congregational Church of Bridgton, located at 33 S. High St. in Bridgotn, will be presenting the fourth and final concert in its summer series of Sunday concerts, will be held at the church on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. The theme for this event is an “Open Rehearsal” featuring the a capella group Vocal Solution.

“The intention is to keep the mood light and informal, while encouraging people to ask questions and have a conversation while we sing some of our favorite music," Kevin Murphy, a singer in the group, said. "We'll have a 'program' of sorts laid out, so we know what we'll be singing. It's sort of like inviting an audience to a dress rehearsal for a concert — only we'll be a little more willing to start and stop. Doing it this way accomplishes a couple of things, including allowing us to add a few pieces that we might not have added for a 'regular' concert.  Doing this is about the joy of music and sharing our sound with people - not necessarily about performing things "perfectly".
