TAMWORTH — While New England’s celebrated maple sugaring season is still months away, the vibrant autumn landscape offers a unique window into the science behind the syrup. Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm, located at 58 Cleveland Hill Rd. in Tamworth, New Hampshire, is delighted to announce its newest seasonal offering, Fall Maple Tours, running Thursday through Saturday at 11 a.m., from Sept. 24-Oct. 10.
This family-friendly guided ramble invites visitors of all ages to step onto the historic farmstead and explore how the brilliant colors of fall connect to the sweet rewards of spring. Participants will visit some of the farm’s maple trees to learn about the annual leaf-change phenomenon, discover what is happening inside the trees as they prepare for winter, and look ahead to the precise conditions needed to fire up the Remick sugarhouse next year.
