Renda breaks course record for walkers im half marathon

Under sunny skies and crisp fall temperatures a record 35 walkers toed the starting line Oct. 27 to compete alone with 323 runners in the 17th Annual White Mountain Milers Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run. While North Conway's Brendan Sullivan was the overall winner and top male runner with a time of 1:18:41, on the walker side, 40-year-old John Renda of Albany, dominated the field and dropped 8 minutes off the course record to finish in 1:12:51. Valley resident Marcia Uhl was the top female walker. She crossed the line in 1hour 36 minutes and 19 seconds.Locals or Home Grown Mt.
