CONWAY — Jeff Locke is pleased with how the first half of the season has gone for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he believes even better days could be ahead over the next three months.

The Pirates have the second most wins in the Major Leagues — no team has been better than the Bucs since the middle of May. At 53-35, Pittsburgh is just 2.5 games in back of St. Louis (56-33). The Pirates took two of three from the Cardinals last weekend prior to the All Star break, winning both in extra innings.
