CONWAY — In weather better suited for swimming or just relaxing in the shade, 57 runners braved 88-degree temperatures and high humidity to run in the annual Kennett Challenge Race last Tuesday at the Kennett Middle School.

Top honors on the day fun 2-mile race for the women and men in the team competitions between the silverbacks (the White Mountain Milers) and the young whippersnappers (Kennett High and Fryeburg Academy cross-country teams), went to cagey veteran Milers.
