FRYEBURG — The Fryeburg Academy track team, at close to full strength, traveled to the Costello Field House on the Gorham campus of the University of Southern Maine for their third meet of the season on Friday. As the team rounds into competitive form and athletes and coaches begin to find their best events, the Raiders responded with 19 personal bests. In team results, York swept to victories for both boys and girls, but the Raiders finished second on both sides, ahead of Freeport, Gray-New Gloucester and Yarmouth, in the five team meet.
According to head coach Kevin McDonald, "At this time of the season it's very gratifying to see such improvement in the athletes. It's what the coaching staff works for all season and to see this type of improvement speaks volumes. The athletes are all working hard and it's rewarding to see the success being achieved by this work.”
