I could not be any more excited about the Class C semifinal football game on Saturday (5 p.m.) between the Fryeburg Academy Raiders and the Hornets from Leavitt in Turner, Maine. I think it will be quite a game. It may be comparable to the Super Bowl in 1969 when the Jets beat the Colts.
The Raiders have just what it takes to upset the heavily favored Hornets. I have not seen Leavitt play but I have heard they have a strong QB, who also plays defensive back. I believe the guys up front from Fryeburg defensively will give him more than he has ever seen before, and it will rattle him. There will be turnovers. There will be hard-hitting.
