CONWAY — The Kennett High baseball team is right where it wants to be this week after taking care of business last week. Heading into the final week of the regular season the Eagles needed to win their last three games in three days to earn the opportunity to host a playoff game. The hometown flock did exactly that, beating Plymouth 3-2 in a thriller at Robert Burns Sr. Varsity Baseball Field on Wednesday; topped Pembroke Academy 5-2 in Concord on Thursday, and defeated Berlin 5-0 at the Bob on Senior Day on Friday.

“We had that, ‘We’ve got to win the next game mentality,’ which worked,” Josh McAllister, Eagles’ head coach, said. “We were a little flat on Friday. I think we were tired after playing and beating two good Division II playoff teams in Plymouth and Pembroke.”
