CONWAY — It was only a matter of time. The Kennett High volleyball team has been knocking on victory’s door all fall, but on Saturday during the Eagles’ Homecoming, they kicked the door in to notch their first win of the season — and in impressive fashion. The Eagles rolled Hillsboro-Deering 3-0 to score their first win in a little while.
“Congratulations to the girls,” said Diana Germain, Eagles’ head coach. “They finally kept their heads in it for an entire match. We should have won (Sept. 24) against Plymouth (but lost 3-1) and on Wednesday at home against Belmont (but lost 3-1). I said to stop worrying about that first win, just play good volleyball and it will come. We played really well against Hillsboro-Deering and it happened. It’s a win the girls deserve.”
