CUMBERLAND, Maine — The Fryeburg Academy girls’ cross-country running team placed sixth in the Class A South Regional Championships at Twin Brook on Saturday to punch its ticket to the Maine State Cross-Country Running Championships.

“They took sixth place at this meet where they were ranked eighth, so even though this was not a PR course, they outperformed many of their peers,” said Trevor Hope, Raiders’ head coach. “That has been a goal this season — so great job working hard in your training to make that happen. Quite the honor to represent the team and school at States.”
