FRYEBURG, Maine — A free food pantry has been installed beside the library in the former Registry of Deeds building at 511 Main St., two years after selectmen approved the project.
Jeffery Walburger, who proposed the pantry in 2024, announced its Oct. 22 installation in a letter. He said the pantry is meant to offer neighbors a place to take what they need or leave what they can. It was modeled on a little free library, with food and other supplies in place of books.
