CONWAY — One thing is certain when the Kennett High boys’ basketball team and Kingswood meet on the hardwood — you don’t want to leave early or you’ll miss a fantastic finish. In the last five meetings between these Carroll County rivals the game hasn’t been decided until the final minute. On Tuesday night, Kennett junior Jayden Jackson scored the game-winning basket with 2.2 seconds left for a 39-37 victory in the Peter Ames Gymnasium and led to a flock of Eagles storming the court at the buzzer to celebrate with their team.
“It was a great game,” Jack Loynd, Eagles’ head coach, said. “We had a great crowd. The students were really into it; they were our sixth man.”
